Carolina was born and raised in Los Angeles, California but she has been calling the Northern Nevada area her home for about 10 years. Carolina is a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Substance Abuse Addiction Services at the University of Nevada, Reno and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Touro University Worldwide. Carolina practices in both English and Spanish. She comes from an Hispanic/Latino background, integrating and serving both communities is her passion. Carolina specializes in working with age groups and populations such as adolescents, adults, and elderly. However, she has experience working across most ages and backgrounds. She has a particular interest in working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, or have a history of trauma. Carolina works from a therapeutic narrative perspective and believes everyone has a story to tell and should be listened to. Her therapeutic approach is strongly influenced by her belief in the importance of creating one’s own story and externalizing problems that do not define individuals and families. She believes in the power of empathy in therapy.
